2Chronicles 4, The furnishings of God!

2Ch 4:1, Moreover he made A BRONZE ALTAR: twenty cubits was its length, twenty cubits its width, and ten cubits its height. 

Just as in the tabernacle, the altar was the first thing we see as we enter the temple! Before we can enter the Temple GOD dealt with our sins through HIS SON on the cross of calvary!

Heb 13:10, 13, WE HAVE AN ALTAR FROM WHICH THOSE WHO SERVE THE TABERNACLE … Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

2Ch 4:2,4  Then he made the Sea of cast bronze…IT STOOD ON TWELVE OXEN: three looking toward the north, three looking toward the west, three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; the Sea was set upon them, and all their back parts pointed inward.

The Sea of cast bronze was a place for PRIEST to wash before entering the temple of GOD and it was set on twelve oxen!  OUR TWELVE OXEN ARE THE TWELVE APOSTLES, WHO WENT OUT OF JERUSALEM SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS THAT CLEANSES THE PEOPLE! JESUS

1Peter 2:9, But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…

Heb 8:5, who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “SEE THAT YOU MAKE ALL THINGS ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN SHOWN YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN.

There is a reason that GOD told Moses to make everything according to the pattern! BECAUSE ALL OF IT POINTS DIRECTLY TO HIS SON JESUS! HE IS THE WAY!

2Chronicles 3, Provide HIMSELF!

2Ch 3:1, NOW SOLOMON BEGAN TO BUILD THE HOUSE OF THE LORD AT JERUSALEM ON MOUNT MORIAH, …

On a different spot on that same hill, Mount Moriah, Isaac was offered, as a type of CHRIST, Gen 22:2, Then the LORD Jesus was offered up on that same hill!

Gen 22:8 KJV, And Abraham said, MY SON, GOD WILL PROVIDE HIMSELF A LAMB FOR A BURNT OFFERING…

Abraham, speaking as the Father, said “MY SON, GOD WILL PROVIDE HIMSELF” GOD THE SON PROVIDED HIMSELF AS A BURNT OFFERING BECAUSE OF OUR SINS!

Heb 1:8, But to the SON HE SAYS: “YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER; A SCEPTER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE SCEPTER OF YOUR KINGDOM. 

OUR SINS WHERE GREAT, BUT HIS LOVE FOR US WAS GREATER THAN OUR SINS!

2Ch 3:17, Then he set up the pillars before the temple, … HE CALLED THE NAME OF THE ONE ON THE RIGHT HAND JACHIN, AND THE NAME OF THE ONE ON THE LEFT BOAZ. 

Jachin means “HE SHALL ESTABLISH” AND Boaz means “IN HIM IS STRENGTH”! The house of GOD was established by GOD and built by the strength of GOD!

1Pe 2:5, YOU ALSO, AS LIVING STONES, ARE BEING BUILT UP A SPIRITUAL HOUSE, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.  The Father is building HIS temple, the church, on the ROCK, HIS SON JESUS! INDEED, JESUS HAS ESTABLISHED IN HIS STRENGTH THE WAY FOR US TO FOLLOW! TRUST IN HIM, HE IS COMING BACK FOR HIS BRIDE! SOON!!

2Chronicles 2, who is the LORD!

2Ch 2:5, And the temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. 

There are no gods like our GOD, and all others are the work of men’s hands and imagination!

Psa 86:8-9, Among the gods THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU, O LORD; Nor are there any works like Your works. All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, AND SHALL GLORIFY YOUR NAME.

2Ch 2:6, But who is able to build Him a temple, SINCE HEAVEN AND THE HEAVEN OF HEAVENS CANNOT CONTAIN HIM? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple..

Not even the vastness of time and space can contain the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for HE inhabits eternity! Even this earth is just a footstool for HIM!

Isa 66:1, Thus says the LORD: “HEAVEN IS MY THRONE, AND EARTH IS MY FOOTSTOOL. WHERE IS THE HOUSE THAT YOU WILL BUILD ME? AND WHERE IS THE PLACE OF MY REST?  

Solomon said “who am I then, that I should build HIM a temple”? His father David said it differently in Psalm 8:4!

Psa 8:4, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 

It’s not about David, Solomon, or us, IT’S ABOUT THE LORD ON HIGH!

Job 25:6, How much less man, who is a maggot, And a son of man, who is a worm?” 

Psa 47:2, FOR THE LORD MOST HIGH IS AWESOME; HE IS A GREAT KING OVER ALL THE EARTH. 

WE MUST KNOW THAT WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD WHO IS PRESENT EVERYWHERE AND KNOWS ALL! WE ARE GIVEN THE HONOR OF BEING AT HIS FEET DAILY! BLESSED BE HIS NAME!

2Chronicles 1, What shall I give you?

2Ch 1:1, Now Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, AND THE LORD HIS GOD WAS WITH HIM AND EXALTED HIM EXCEEDINGLY. 

IF GOD IS FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? (Rom 8:31) HE IS WITH US, YET HOW MANY TRULY SEEK HIS STRENGTH, HIS GUIDANCE? 

2Ch 1:6-7, And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it. ON THAT NIGHT GOD APPEARED TO SOLOMON, AND SAID TO HIM, “ASK! WHAT SHALL I GIVE YOU?”

We have the same promise of GOD!

Joh 15:7, IF YOU ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YOU WILL ASK WHAT YOU DESIRE, AND IT SHALL BE DONE FOR YOU.

IF YOU ABIDE IN ME! What is the condition of our heart? Do we seek for HIS glory or ours?

2Ch 1:10, NOW GIVE ME WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE, THAT I MAY GO OUT AND COME IN BEFORE THIS PEOPLE; for who can judge this great people of Yours?” 

Solomon asked for wisdom to guide the LORD’s people in the proper manner!  What would you have asked for? Riches, honor, glory; For your glory or HIS?

Jas 4:3, YOU ASK AND DO NOT RECEIVE, BECAUSE YOU ASK AMISS, THAT YOU MAY SPEND IT ON YOUR PLEASURES. 

2Ch 1:12, WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE ARE GRANTED TO YOU…

THE LORD GAVE SOLOMON MUCH MORE THAN HE COULD HAVE EVER ASKED FOR! SEEK HIS FACE, HIS HONOR FOR HIS GLORY AND HE WILL LIFT YOU UP!

1Chronicles 29, All for the LORD!

1Ch 29:1, Furthermore King David said to all the assembly: “MY SON SOLOMON, WHOM ALONE GOD HAS CHOSEN, IS YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED; AND THE WORK IS GREAT, BECAUSE THE TEMPLE IS NOT FOR MAN BUT FOR THE LORD GOD.

Anything we do for the LORD is no small task in HIS eyes; for we are building HIS holy temple, not of rock or stone, but of people!

1Ch 29:3, Moreover, BECAUSE I HAVE SET MY AFFECTION ON THE HOUSE OF MY GOD, I HAVE GIVEN TO THE HOUSE OF MY GOD, OVER AND ABOVE ALL THAT I HAVE PREPARED FOR THE HOLY HOUSE, MY OWN SPECIAL TREASURE OF GOLD AND SILVER: 

DAVID’S TREASURE WAS NOT MONEY, BUT IT WAS THE LORD, HIS GOD!

Mat 6:21, FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO. 

1Ch 29:9, Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the LORD; and King David also rejoiced greatly. 

All that we give actually belongs to the LORD!

1Ch 29:11-12, Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; FOR ALL THAT IS IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH IS YOURS; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. BOTH RICHES AND HONOR COME FROM YOU, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; IN YOUR HAND IT IS TO MAKE GREAT AND TO GIVE STRENGTH TO ALL.

Col 3:23, And whatever you do, do it heartily, AS TO THE LORD AND NOT TO MEN, 

1Chronicles 28, Knowing your GOD!

1Ch 28:9, “As for you, MY SON SOLOMON, KNOW THE GOD OF YOUR FATHER, AND SERVE HIM WITH A LOYAL HEART AND WITH A WILLING MIND; FOR THE LORD SEARCHES ALL HEARTS AND UNDERSTANDS ALL THE INTENT OF THE THOUGHTS. IF YOU SEEK HIM, HE WILL BE FOUND BY YOU; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. 

Psa 9:10, And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE NOT FORSAKEN THOSE WHO SEEK YOU. 

Many people go to church out of obligation, but they fail in knowing GOD! HE is a loving Father who can be found if you diligently seek HIM!

Isa 55:6, SEEK THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND, CALL UPON HIM WHILE HE IS NEAR

Scripture points out that HE can be found in life, YET IN DEATH THERE IS NO MORE HOPE FOR HIS WORDS OF SALVATION!

Isa 38:18, For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; THOSE WHO GO DOWN TO THE PIT CANNOT HOPE FOR YOUR TRUTH. 

For the believer, earth is the closest they will ever be to hell! Yet, for the non-believer, this is the closest they will be to heaven!  The choice is made here and now!

Psa 119:9-10, HOW CAN A YOUNG MAN CLEANSE HIS WAY? BY TAKING HEED ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

Heb 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, FOR HE WHO COMES TO GOD MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 

1Chronicles 27, Numbering Israel?

1Ch 27:23, But David did not take the number of those twenty years old and under, BECAUSE THE LORD HAD SAID HE WOULD MULTIPLY ISRAEL LIKE THE STARS OF THE HEAVENS. 

But he was tempted by satan to number his army, all who drew the sword! Which ended in a plague. 

1Ch 21:1, Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

The LORD told Abram that his descendants would be innumerable; Then why would David want to number Israel?

Gen 15:5, Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 

What the LORD has said will come to pass

Num 23:19, “GOD IS NOT A MAN, THAT HE SHOULD LIE, NOR A SON OF MAN, THAT HE SHOULD REPENT. HAS HE SAID, AND WILL HE NOT DO? OR HAS HE SPOKEN, AND WILL HE NOT MAKE IT GOOD? 

1Ch 27:24, Joab the son of Zeruiah began a census, … FOR WRATH CAME UPON ISRAEL BECAUSE OF THIS CENSUS..

Why bring the wrath of God on the earth before the time; even the demons know better that that! Mat 8:29, “HAVE YOU COME HERE TO TORMENT US BEFORE THE TIME?”

Col 3:6, Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 

THE WRATH OF GOD IS COMING NO NEED FOR YOU TO BRING IT ON YOURSELF! STAY IN HIS WORD AND DO THE WORKS HE HAS FOR YOU!

1Chronicles 26, HIS Gatekeepers!

1Ch 26:1, CONCERNING THE DIVISIONS OF THE GATEKEEPERS:

We all have a part in GOD’s plan. If we are seen or in the background, we all are part of HIS Body each given different gifts!

Eph 3:7, of which I BECAME A MINISTER ACCORDING TO THE GIFT OF THE GRACE OF GOD GIVEN TO ME BY THE EFFECTIVE WORKING OF HIS POWER. 

Psa 84:10, For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I WOULD RATHER BE A DOORKEEPER IN THE HOUSE OF MY GOD THAN DWELL IN THE TENTS OF WICKEDNESS. 

1Ch 26:7-9, … WERE ABLE MEN. All these were of the sons of Obed-Edom, they and their sons and their brethren, ABLE MEN WITH STRENGTH FOR THE WORK: sixty-two of Obed-Edom. And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, EIGHTEEN ABLE MEN.

1Co 12:4-6, There are diversities of gifts, BUT THE SAME SPIRIT. There are differences of ministries, BUT THE SAME LORD. And there are diversities of activities, BUT IT IS THE SAME GOD WHO WORKS ALL IN ALL.

HE is always giving abilities to men for the work HE has for us on this earth! When the LORD calls on a man for the work of HIS ministry; HE also calls on mighty men of valor to support the LORD’s anointed! 

1Ch 12:8, …MIGHTY MEN OF VALOR, MEN TRAINED FOR BATTLE, WHO COULD HANDLE SHIELD AND SPEAR, WHOSE FACES WERE LIKE THE FACES OF LIONS, AND WERE AS SWIFT AS GAZELLES ON THE MOUNTAINS: 

It’s not about your strength’s or abilities; it’s about HIS mission for you! HE WILL EQUIP YOU FOR THE BATTLE AHEAD OF YOU!

1Chronicles 25, Worship HIM in Spirit!

1Ch 25:1, Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, WHO SHOULD PROPHESY WITH HARPS, STRINGED INSTRUMENTS, AND CYMBALS…

It’s not just playing musical instruments, but it’s a gift of GOD!

1Ch 25: 5, … THE SONS OF HEMAN THE KING’S SEER IN THE WORDS OF GOD, TO EXALT HIS HORN. FOR GOD GAVE HEMAN FOURTEEN SONS AND THREE DAUGHTERS.

The sons of Heman were dedicated to worshiping the LORD.  God bless Heman with children to praise HIM in HIS Holy Temple!

Psa 127:3, Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. 

Joh 4:23-24, But the hour is coming, and now is, WHEN THE TRUE WORSHIPERS WILL WORSHIP THE FATHER IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH; FOR THE FATHER IS SEEKING SUCH TO WORSHIP HIM. GOD IS SPIRIT, AND THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH.” 

It’s an honor to worship the LORD, but so many worship HIM in the flesh; which is just singing and has nothing to do with worship! Worship HIM knowing that HE is there, Worship HIM for HE is worthy to be praised! HE inhabits the worship of HIS people!

Psa 22:3, But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. 

1Chronicles 24, HIS WAY not yours!

1Ch 24:1-2, Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. AND NADAB AND ABIHU DIED BEFORE THEIR FATHER, and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar ministered as priests.

Num 26:61, AND NADAB AND ABIHU DIED WHEN THEY OFFERED PROFANE FIRE BEFORE THE LORD. 

It is not known why Nadab and Abihu offered in a way not commanded by GOD, but it was wrong. They went before the LORD in their own way not HIS way!

Pro 14:12, There is a way THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN, But its end is the way of death. 

Lev 10:3, And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘BY THOSE WHO COME NEAR ME I MUST BE REGARDED AS HOLY; AND BEFORE ALL THE PEOPLE I MUST BE GLORIFIED.’ ” So Aaron held his peace. 

Isa 6:3, And one cried to another and said: “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD OF HOSTS; THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY!”

We are wretched and no matter what we do we fall short of the glory of GOD! When we come in HIS presence we must understand that we are sinners saved by grace! No matter who your father is or position he holds; GOD SHOWS NO PARTIALITY TO NO MAN!

Psa 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
