Job 30, Our true enemy!

Job 30:1, “But now they mock at me, men younger than I, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.

Before men used to listen to his wisdom (Job 29:21), but now even men whom he wouldn’t put in charge of the dogs mock him! ONE THING TO REMEMBER HERE IS THAT JESUS WAS ALSO MOCKED BY MEN!

Joh 19:3, Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands.

Today, Christians are counted as crazy because of our faith in CHRIST JESUS! THE WORLD HATED HIM THEY WILL ALSO HATE US!

Job 30:8-10, THEY WERE SONS OF FOOLS, Yes, SONS OF VILE MEN; They were scourged from the land. “AND NOW I AM THEIR TAUNTING SONG; Yes, I AM THEIR BYWORD. They abhor me, they keep far from me; They do not hesitate to spit in my face.

Because of Job’s faith in the living GOD, he is enduring the attack of satan through these men! WE ALSO HAVE OUR OWN TRIALS BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH IN THE LIVING GOD!

Heb 11:36, STILL OTHERS HAD TRIAL OF MOCKINGS AND SCOURGINGS, YES, AND OF CHAINS AND IMPRISONMENT.

Job 30:11, BECAUSE HE HAS LOOSED MY BOWSTRING AND AFFLICTED ME, They have cast off restraint before me.

Job believes that GOD has weaken him, but we know that this is an attack by satan, which GOD Allowed! GOD WILL NEVER TEMP YOU TO SIN AGAINST HIM LIKE SATAN WANTS JOB TO DO (Job 1:11)! “HE (Job) WILL SURELY CURSE YOU (GOD) TO YOUR FACE!”

Jas 1:13, NLT, And remember, WHEN YOU ARE BEING TEMPTED, DO NOT SAY, “GOD IS TEMPTING ME.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and HE NEVER TEMPTS ANYONE ELSE.

WE NEED TO BE AWARE OF WHO OUR TRUE ENEMY IS AND WHO IS TEMPTING US!

Eph 6:10-11, Finally, my brethren, BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT. PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL.

Job 29, waiting on the LORD!

Job 29:2-3, “Oh, that I were as in months past, AS IN THE DAYS WHEN GOD WATCHED OVER ME; When His lamp shone upon my head, And WHEN BY HIS LIGHT I WALKED THROUGH DARKNESS;

In Job’s eyes, his greatest lost was the fellowship he had with the LORD! job’s footsteps were guided by the light of his goodness even in times of darkness!

Psa 27:1, … The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

EVEN IN THE DARKEST, SCARIEST MOMENTS IN LIFE, THE LORD IS THERE READY TO HELP!

Heb 13:6, So we may boldly say: “THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?”

Job 29:12-13, Because I delivered the poor who cried out, The fatherless and the one who had no helper. The blessing of a perishing man came upon me, And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

Job wasn’t greedy with his wealth, he helped the poor, the needy and the widow! GOD used Job to bless others!

Heb 13:16, BUT DO NOT FORGET TO DO GOOD AND TO SHARE, FOR WITH SUCH SACRIFICES GOD IS WELL PLEASED.

Job 29:21-22, “Men listened to me and waited, And kept silence for my counsel. After my words they did not speak again, And my speech settled on them as dew.

But now people look at him in awe! What happened to this man! What did he do? Even his friends turned on him?

Joh 13:7, Jesus answered…, “WHAT I AM DOING YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND NOW, BUT YOU WILL KNOW AFTER THIS.”

There are times in our lives when we just don’t understand what is happening, what is GOD doing, why am I going through this? BUT THOSE WHO KNOW THE LORD KNOW THAT HE HAS A PURPOSE FOR IT! WAIT ON THE LORD!

Rom 8:28, And WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, TO THOSE WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

Job 28, True hidden treasure! the LORD!

Job 28:1-2,4, “SURELY THERE IS A MINE FOR SILVER, AND A PLACE WHERE GOLD IS REFINED. IRON IS TAKEN FROM THE EARTH, And copper is smelted from ore. …. HE BREAKS OPEN A SHAFT AWAY FROM PEOPLE; IN PLACES FORGOTTEN BY FEET They hang far away from men; THEY SWING TO AND FRO.

Job is thinking that the earth holds many hidden treasures! Silver, Gold, Iron etc, BUT IT’S HARD WORK TO UN-EARTH! BUT, TO THE DILIGENT THESE TREASURES CAN BE FOUND!

Job 28:12-13, “BUT WHERE CAN WISDOM BE FOUND? AND WHERE IS THE PLACE OF UNDERSTANDING? MAN DOES NOT KNOW ITS VALUE, Nor is it found in the land of the living.

Pro 3:13, Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;

Job 28:15-17, IT CANNOT BE PURCHASED FOR GOLD, NOR CAN SILVER BE WEIGHED FOR ITS PRICE. IT CANNOT BE VALUED IN THE GOLD OF OPHIR, IN PRECIOUS ONYX OR SAPPHIRE. NEITHER GOLD NOR CRYSTAL CAN EQUAL IT, NOR CAN IT BE EXCHANGED FOR JEWELRY OF FINE GOLD.

WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING IS BY FAR MORE PRECIOUS THAN ANY EARTHLY TREASURE; BUT, WHERE CAN IT BE FOUND?

Job 28:28, And to man He said, ‘BEHOLD, THE FEAR OF THE LORD, THAT IS WISDOM, AND TO DEPART FROM EVIL IS UNDERSTANDING.

As silver and gold and all precious stones are found in the earth, TRUE WISDOM IS ONLY FOUND IN HIS WORD! THE DILIGENT, BY READING HIS WORD DAILY, WILL FIND WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING!

Pro 1:7, THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE, BUT FOOLS DESPISE WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION.

Jer 9:23, Thus says the LORD: “LET NOT THE WISE MAN GLORY IN HIS WISDOM, LET NOT THE MIGHTY MAN GLORY IN HIS MIGHT, NOR LET THE RICH MAN GLORY IN HIS RICHES;

DON’T GLORY IN YOUR WISDOM, IN YOUR STRENGTH OR WEALTH, BUT GLORY IN THAT YOU KNOW THE LORD AND HIS WORD! SEEK THE LORD AND YOU’LL FIND ETERNAL TREASURES AND ETERNAL LIFE!

Jer 9:24, BUT LET HIM WHO GLORIES GLORY IN THIS, THAT HE UNDERSTANDS AND KNOWS ME, THAT I AM THE LORD, EXERCISING LOVINGKINDNESS, JUDGMENT, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE EARTH. FOR IN THESE I DELIGHT,” SAYS THE LORD.

Job 27, Whom shall you call on?

Job 27:8-10, FOR WHAT IS THE HOPE OF THE HYPOCRITE, THOUGH HE MAY GAIN MUCH, If God takes away his life? Will God hear his cry When trouble comes upon him? WILL HE DELIGHT HIMSELF IN THE ALMIGHTY? WILL HE ALWAYS CALL ON GOD?

Job has been calling on the LORD, BUT A HYPOCRITE, IN TIMES OF TROUBLE, WILL NOT LEAN ON THE LORD, BUT ON HIS OWN UNDERSTANDING! HE WILL NOT CALL ON GOD FOR HELP FOR HE TRULY DOESN’T BELIEVE!

Rom 10:13-14, For “WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” HOW THEN SHALL THEY CALL ON HIM IN WHOM THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED? …

A Christian will always be driven closer to the LORD to seek understanding and wisdom!

Pro 3:5-6, TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

DON’T TRUST IN WHAT YOU SEE, BUT TRUST IN WHOM YOU DON’T SEE! THE LORD IS WITH YOU AND SHALL NEVER LEAVE YOU!

Job 27:13-15, “THIS IS THE PORTION OF A WICKED MAN WITH GOD, And the heritage of oppressors, RECEIVED FROM THE ALMIGHTY: If his children are multiplied, IT IS FOR THE SWORD; And his offspring shall NOT BE SATISFIED WITH BREAD. THOSE WHO SURVIVE HIM SHALL BE BURIED IN DEATH, AND THEIR WIDOWS SHALL NOT WEEP,

Psa 109:13, Let his posterity be cut off, And in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

The wicked man brings wickedness to his own home. He teaches his children to do the same and will reap the same benefit! DEATH, NOT JUST PHYSICAL, BUT AN EVERLASTING DEATH AWAY FROM THE FATHER!

Pro 22:6, TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO, AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT.

Job 26, used by satan, and the power of GOD!

Job 26:1-3, But Job answered and said: “HOW HAVE YOU HELPED HIM WHO IS WITHOUT POWER? HOW HAVE YOU SAVED THE ARM THAT HAS NO STRENGTH? How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared SOUND ADVICE to many?

Job, speaking to the three friends, HOW HAVE YOU HELPED ME? THEY INITIALLY CAME TO BRING HIM COMFORT, BUT ENDED UP ATTACKING HIM!

Job 13:4, 16:2, BUT YOU FORGERS OF LIES, You are all WORTHLESS PHYSICIANS …. MISERABLE COMFORTERS ARE YOU ALL!

Job 26:4, To whom have you uttered words? And WHOSE SPIRIT CAME FROM YOU?

WHAT SPIRIT SPOKE THRU YOU? Remember Peter, satan rebuked JESUS by using Peter! it looks as if satan used these three to further attack Job! JOB 4:15-17!

Matt 16:22-23, THEN PETER TOOK HIM ASIDE AND BEGAN TO REBUKE HIM, …. BUT HE TURNED AND SAID TO PETER, “GET BEHIND ME, SATAN!…

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE DEMON-POSSESSED FOR SATAN TO INFLUENCE YOU OR SPEAK THROUGH YOU! BE VIGILANT!

1Pe 5:8, BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Job 26:7-8, 13, HE STRETCHES OUT THE NORTH OVER EMPTY SPACE; HE HANGS THE EARTH ON NOTHING. HE BINDS UP THE WATER IN HIS THICK CLOUDS, YET THE CLOUDS ARE NOT BROKEN UNDER IT…. BY HIS SPIRIT HE ADORNED THE HEAVENS

The power and wisdom of GOD! HE STRETCHES OUT SPACE AND HANGS THE EARTH ON NOTHING! HE CARRIES TONS OF WATER VIA CLOUDS! ONLY THE LORD!

Job 26:14, INDEED THESE ARE THE MERE EDGES OF HIS WAYS, AND HOW SMALL A WHISPER WE HEAR OF HIM! BUT THE THUNDER OF HIS POWER WHO CAN UNDERSTAND?”

WE ONLY SEE THE MERE EDGES OF HIS STRENGTH! GLORY BE HIS NAME!

Psa 139:6, SUCH KNOWLEDGE IS TOO WONDERFUL FOR ME; IT IS HIGH, I CANNOT ATTAIN IT.

Job 25, Righteous before GOD?

Job 25:1-3, THEN BILDAD the Shuhite answered and said “DOMINION AND FEAR BELONG TO HIM; He makes peace in His high places. IS THERE ANY NUMBER TO HIS ARMIES? Upon whom does His light not rise?

THE GREATNESS OF GOD IS UNDENIABLE, AND HIS ARMIES ARE WITHOUT NUMBER IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEAT! Bildad is now just repeating what everyone has already agreed to! GOD IS GREAT!

Psa 99:1-3, THE LORD REIGNS; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be moved! THE LORD IS GREAT in Zion, AND HE IS HIGH ABOVE ALL THE PEOPLES. LET THEM PRAISE YOUR GREAT AND AWESOME NAME—HE IS HOLY.

Job 25:4, HOW THEN CAN MAN BE RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD? OR HOW CAN HE BE PURE WHO IS BORN OF A WOMAN?

Again, Bildad thinks Job is saying that he is righteous and sinless before GOD! Job agrees with this and in fact he has already stated that!

Job 9:1-2, Then Job answered and said: “Truly I know it is so, BUT HOW CAN A MAN BE RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD?

THESE, SO CALLED FRIENDS, ARE OUT OF ARGUMENTS, AND IN FACT THIS CHAPTER IS THE LAST OF THEIR WORDS! BUT TO ANSWER JOB AND BILDAD; HOW CAN A MAN BE RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD!

1Cor 6:9-11, Do you not know that the unrighteous WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD? DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. BUT YOU WERE WASHED, BUT YOU WERE SANCTIFIED, BUT YOU WERE JUSTIFIED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS AND BY THE SPIRIT OF OUR GOD.

IT IS ONLY THROUGH JESUS THAT THIS IS POSSIBLE; FOR ALL HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF HIS GLORY! THERE IS NOT ONE THAT DOES GOOD, BUT THROUGH HIS BLOOD WE ARE HEALED, AND THE CHARGES AGAINST US DROPPED!

Rom 8:33, WHO SHALL BRING A CHARGE AGAINST GOD’S ELECT? IT IS GOD WHO JUSTIFIES.

Job 24, Evil men will have their day!

Job 24:1, “Since times are not hidden from the Almighty, WHY DO THOSE WHO KNOW HIM SEE NOT HIS DAYS?

Job struggles in understanding why the wicked seem to prosper and the righteous don’t? FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW IT IS HARD, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE, TO UNDERSTAND WHY GOD DOES OR DOESN’T DO SOMETHING? BUT THOSE WHO KNOW HIM KNOWS WILL PLACE THEIR TRUST IN HIM!

Psa 9:10, AND THOSE WHO KNOW YOUR NAME WILL PUT THEIR TRUST IN YOU; FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE NOT FORSAKEN THOSE WHO SEEK YOU.

Job 24:2-4, “SOME REMOVE LANDMARKS; THEY SEIZE FLOCKS VIOLENTLY AND FEED ON THEM; THEY DRIVE AWAY THE DONKEY OF THE FATHERLESS; THEY TAKE THE WIDOW’S OX AS A PLEDGE. THEY PUSH THE NEEDY OFF THE ROAD; ALL THE POOR OF THE LAND ARE FORCED TO HIDE.

Job sees these evil men stealing from the poor, from the fatherless and from the widows; Job knows what’s written in HIS word regarding them. BUT JUSTICE DOESN’T SEEM TO COME? GOD SEEMS TO BE SILENT EVEN THOUGH IN HIS WORD THOSE EVIL MEN ARE CURSED?

Deu 27:17, ‘CURSED IS THE ONE WHO MOVES HIS NEIGHBOR’S LANDMARK.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

Deu 10:18, HE ADMINISTERS JUSTICE FOR THE FATHERLESS AND THE WIDOW, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.

Job 24:12, The dying groan in the city, And the souls of the wounded cry out; YET GOD DOES NOT CHARGE THEM WITH WRONG.

Psa 73:17-19, UNTIL I WENT INTO THE SANCTUARY OF GOD; THEN I UNDERSTOOD THEIR END. Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.

THE DAY IS COMING AND IS ALMOST HERE, WHERE THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SEE THEIR BLESSED HOPE, JESUS, FACE TO FACE, BUT THE WICKED WILL HAVE THEIR END!

Isa 3:11, Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Job 23, Seeking the LORD in times of trouble!

Job 23:8-9, “LOOK, I GO FORWARD, BUT HE IS NOT THERE, AND BACKWARD, BUT I CANNOT PERCEIVE HIM; When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I CANNOT SEE HIM.

In times of trouble our faith is always put to the test! We seek HIM, Pray to HIM to change the situation, yet nothing seems to change; “LORD ARE YOU EVEN THERE”?

Psa 66:10, FOR YOU, O GOD, HAVE TESTED US; YOU HAVE REFINED US AS SILVER IS REFINED.

During these times WE ARE REFINED just as gold or silver is! The fire causes the impurities to float to the surface and then it’s removed! ONE CAN EASILY SAY I HAVE FAITH IN GOD! BUT, WHEN TESTED, TRUE BELIEVERS WILL SEEK HIS MAKER EVEN MORE AND THE FALSE BELIEVER WILL BE DRAWN AWAY TO WHATEVER THEY TRUST IN MOST!

Job 23:10-11, BUT HE KNOWS THE WAY THAT I TAKE; WHEN HE HAS TESTED ME, I SHALL COME FORTH AS GOLD. MY FOOT HAS HELD FAST TO HIS STEPS; I HAVE KEPT HIS WAY AND NOT TURNED ASIDE.

Job knew that his GOD was still there even though he didn’t know why this is happening to him! JOB, KNEW HIS GOD, KNEW HIS WAYS, KNEW HIS WORD. HAPPEN WHAT MAY, I WILL TRUST IN HIM!

Job 13:15, THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST HIM

WE AS CHRISTIANS NEED TO HOLD FAST TO HIS STEPS, THE WAY SHOWN TO US THROUGH HIS WORD, AND THROUGH HIS EXAMPLE! JESUS IS THE WAY TO THE FATHER!

Joh 14:6, JESUS said to him, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.

TRIALS WILL COME, BUT TRUE BELIEVERS WILL ALWAYS BECOME STRONGER IN THEIR FAITH!

2Co 5:7, FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT.

Job 22, Acquaint your with GOD!

Job 22:1-3, Then Eliphaz…answered and said: “CAN A MAN BE PROFITABLE TO GOD, … IS IT ANY PLEASURE TO THE ALMIGHTY THAT YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS? OR IS IT GAIN TO HIM THAT YOU MAKE YOUR WAYS BLAMELESS?

Eliphaz heard Job, but he heard arrogance! Job thought too highly of himself! BUT TO ANSWER ELIPHAZ, YES JOB’S RIGHTEOUSNESS PLEASED THE FATHER AS WE ARE PLEASED WHEN OUR CHILDREN WALK IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD! IT CAN ONLY BRING JOY!

Job 1:8, Then the LORD said… THAT THERE IS NONE LIKE HIM ON THE EARTH, A BLAMELESS AND UPRIGHT MAN, ONE WHO FEARS GOD AND SHUNS EVIL?”

Pro 29:3, WHOEVER LOVES WISDOM MAKES HIS FATHER REJOICE…

3Jn 1:4, I HAVE NO GREATER JOY THAN TO HEAR THAT MY CHILDREN WALK IN TRUTH.

Job 22:5-7, IS NOT YOUR WICKEDNESS GREAT, AND YOUR INIQUITY WITHOUT END? For you have taken pledges from your brother for no reason, And STRIPPED THE NAKED OF THEIR CLOTHING. YOU HAVE NOT GIVEN THE WEARY WATER TO DRINK, AND YOU HAVE WITHHELD BREAD FROM THE HUNGRY.

Eliphaz now starts accusing Job of stealing from the poor, not providing for the needy! I’M JUST AMAZED AT JOB’S PATIENCE, BECAUSE IF IT WERE ME, I WOULD HAVE PUT ON GLOVES REVEALING MY TRUE SELF!

Pro 14:29, HE WHO IS SLOW TO WRATH HAS GREAT UNDERSTANDING, BUT HE WHO IS IMPULSIVE EXALTS FOLLY.

Job 22:21-22, “NOW ACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH HIM, AND BE AT PEACE; THEREBY GOOD WILL COME TO YOU. RECEIVE, PLEASE, INSTRUCTION FROM HIS MOUTH, AND LAY UP HIS WORDS IN YOUR HEART.

Great advice from Eliphaz, just given to the wrong person! It just doesn’t apply to Job!

WE NEED TO BE ACQUAINTED WITH THE ONLY TRUE AND LIVING GOD WHO HEARS AND KNOWS ALL! HE HASN’T LEFT JOB EVEN THOUGH HE APPEARS DISTANT!

Joh 17:3, AND THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE, THAT THEY MAY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.

Job 21, His ways!

Job 21:1-3, Then Job answered and said: “LISTEN CAREFULLY TO MY SPEECH, AND LET THIS BE YOUR CONSOLATION. Bear with me that I may speak, AND AFTER I HAVE SPOKEN, KEEP MOCKING.

Job’s friends weren’t listening, but he was! Job said, “COMFORT ME BY LISTENING TO ME”!

Job 21:4-5, “As for me, IS MY COMPLAINT AGAINST MAN? … Look at me and be astonished; Put your hand over your mouth.

Job complaint is not against man, BUT AGAINST GOD FOR HE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT GOD WAS DOING! WHY LORD! WHY!

Psa 77:7-8, NLT, HAS THE LORD REJECTED ME FOREVER? WILL HE NEVER AGAIN BE KIND TO ME? IS HIS UNFAILING LOVE GONE FOREVER? HAVE HIS PROMISES PERMANENTLY FAILED?

Job 21:22-23, 25-26, “CAN ANYONE TEACH GOD KNOWLEDGE, Since He judges those on high? ONE DIES IN HIS FULL STRENGTH, Being wholly at ease and secure; … ANOTHER MAN DIES IN THE BITTERNESS OF HIS SOUL, Never having eaten with pleasure. THEY LIE DOWN ALIKE IN THE DUST, AND WORMS COVER THEM.

Job, doesn’t understand GOD’s way! ONE MAN LIVES IN PROSPERIRTY AND IN GOOD HEALTH, YET ANOTHER LIVES IN BITTER POVERTY! WHY?

Isa 55:8-9, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

THE MIND OF MAN IS LIMITED, BUT THE LORD KNOWS ALL! WHO CAN TEACH GOD KNOWLEDGE, OR WHO CAN GIVE GOD COUNCIL? NO ONE CAN!

Isa 40:13-14, Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding?
