1Kings 9, the LORD appears to Solomon!

1Ki 9:3, And the LORD said to him: “I HAVE HEARD YOUR PRAYER AND YOUR SUPPLICATION THAT YOU HAVE MADE BEFORE ME; I have consecrated this house which you have built TO PUT MY NAME THERE FOREVER, AND MY EYES AND MY HEART WILL BE THERE PERPETUALLY. 

It’s amazing to think that the creator of heaven and earth can hear our prayers! THE PRAYER OF THE UPRIGHT IS HIS DELIGHT Pro 15:8!

Deu 11:12, a land for which the LORD your God cares; THE EYES OF THE LORD YOUR GOD ARE ALWAYS ON IT, FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE VERY END OF THE YEAR. 

1Ki 9:6-7, BUT IF you or your sons at all TURN FROM FOLLOWING ME, AND DO NOT KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS AND MY STATUTES WHICH I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU, BUT GO AND SERVE OTHER GODS AND WORSHIP THEM, THEN I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; AND THIS HOUSE which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. ISRAEL WILL BE A PROVERB AND A BYWORD AMONG ALL PEOPLES.

IT’S A CHOICE GIVEN TO SOLOMON AND A CHOICE GIVEN TO US; TO FOLLOW THE LORD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS! BUT A BACKSLIDER ONLY HARMS HIMSELF!

Jer 2:19, YOUR OWN WICKEDNESS WILL CORRECT YOU, AND YOUR BACKSLIDINGS WILL REBUKE YOU. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing That you have forsaken the LORD your God, And the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord GOD of hosts. 

THE LORD WANTS TO USE US TO DRAW MORE PEOPLE TOWARDS HIMSELF ONLY IF WE ARE FAITHFUL TO HIM! KEEP WATCH OVER YOUR OWN HEART!

1Kings 8, Dedicating the Temple, Prayer!

1Ki 8:41-42, “Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country FOR YOUR NAME’S SAKE (FOR THEY WILL HEAR OF YOUR GREAT NAME AND YOUR STRONG HAND AND YOUR OUTSTRETCHED ARM), WHEN HE COMES AND PRAYS TOWARD THIS TEMPLE,  

Praying towards the Temple of God which many still do today even though the Temple is no longer standing! Gentiles will come to Israel for we know that there is only one GOD

1Ki 8:43, hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and DO ACCORDING TO ALL FOR WHICH THE FOREIGNER CALLS TO YOU, that all peoples of the earth MAY KNOW YOUR NAME AND FEAR YOU, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is CALLED BY YOUR NAME.

Mal 1:11, …MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE GENTILES; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; FOR MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE NATIONS,” Says the LORD of hosts. 

1Ki 8:57, May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. MAY HE NOT LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US, 

HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US FOR THE GENTILES, WHO ONCE WALKED IN DARKNESS, HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT IN JESUS OUR LORD!

Isa 41:10, Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ 

1Kings 7, Jachin and Boaz, Pillars!

1Ki 7:1, But Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house…

Solomon built a Beautiful Temple for the LORD, and it took 7 years to complete; YET, his own home took him 13 years to build!  THIS SAYS A LOT ABOUT US! WE TEND TO CONSIDER OUR COMFORT, OUR HOMES MORE THAN WE DO THE HOUSE OF GOD!

Hag 1:4-5, “IS IT TIME FOR YOU YOURSELVES TO DWELL IN YOUR PANELED HOUSES, and this TEMPLE TO LIE IN RUINS?” Now therefore, THUS SAYS THE LORD OF HOSTS: “CONSIDER YOUR WAYS!

WHEN OUR FOCUS IS ON OUR COMFORT, HE HAS HIS WAYS TO GET OUR ATTENTION!

Hag 1:6, “You have sown much, and BRING IN LITTLE; You eat, BUT DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH; You drink, but you are NOT FILLED WITH DRINK; You clothe yourselves, but NO ONE IS WARM; And he who earns wages, EARNS WAGES TO PUT INTO A BAG WITH HOLES.

1Ki 7:21, THEN HE SET UP THE PILLARS BY THE VESTIBULE OF THE TEMPLE; he set up the pillar on the RIGHT AND CALLED ITS NAME JACHIN, and he set up the pillar on THE LEFT AND CALLED ITS NAME BOAZ. 

Jachin means “HE SHALL ESTABLISH” and Boaz means “IN HIM IS STRENGTH”! ONE DAY, BY HIS STRENGTH, HE WILL ESTABLISH HIS KINGDOM (2Sa 7:12), ON EARTH!

WE HAVE TO CONSIDER OUR WAYS; DO WE TEND TO FOCUS ON OUR COMFORT OR THE WORK OF GOD! HIS KINGDOM WILL COME WITH OR WITHOUT US! Mat 6:33, BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU.
